Awtar Cafe

This cafe has incredibly high prices and they're cheating. When I looked at the menu, I chose a shawarma priced at 430 egyption pounds. The picture on the menu showed two shawarmas, and I asked the employee if that was the price for two. They said yes. I decided it was a reasonable price. I also ordered a cola. After a long wait, they brought us two shawarmas, a cola, and two 0.5-liter bottles of plain water. After lunch, they brought us the bill for 1,600 pounds!!! After our outrage, it turned out they'd "mistaken" and the price was 1,060 pounds. And then they lowered it further to 980. Then their employee brought a calculator and started showing us the cost. It turned out that just one shawarma cost 430. Of course, I expected the shawarma to be more expensive than in Cairo, where we were. But not that much. And a small bottle of plain water cost 80 pounds. Moreover, 1.5 liters of water cost 10 pounds in the nearby shops. And one more thing: we didn't order two bottles of water. In all the cafes we've been to before, if they give you something you didn't order, it's free. And they also have a trick: they bring the receipt after lunch and don't tell you the price upfront. I advise to avoid these scammers.

We ordered a hookah and drinks, the menu said 800, but they actually brought us a bill for 1150. I don’t recommend this place, they’re very scammy, although it has a cool view on the seashore.

The prices are inflated. A hookah costs $6, but the sea view makes up for it. We were ripped off by about £250. We bought a hookah and four drinks. It should have been £800 +14% VAT, but they charged us £1,100. I wouldn't recommend it.

We liked the place very much, the service and staff were very nice, it is definitely a place we will come back to if we go to Egypt again. Greetings from Turkey
